God, Science, and the Bible.

The internet is replete with questions and answers concerning the following.

God, science, and the bible, do they relate?
Can the bible help us understand science?
Can science help us understand the bible?
Science and the bible, do they contradict each other?

Innumerable books, articles, and periodicals are devoted to rescuing people, who seek answers, who are perplexed, or who are deceived.  This is not just a noble effort; the answer givers are on a mission of mercy to those who are confused, they are on a mission of liberation to those who are deceived.  Answer givers are very serious and deeply devoted; they have spent considerable time and effort; because of this they are unquestionably convinced that their answers are true, accurate, and portray reality.

As research is done and answers are sought for these questions, people discover differing opinions and polarized views; some answers are diametrically opposed due to alternate world views and differing perceptions of reality.  Some opposing answers are based on science, religion, history, philosophy, and even mathematics.  While the unnecessary conflict between religion and science is prevalent, virtually any combination of the above has caused conflict.  Here are two combinations that have caused conflict worthy of simple explanations later.

Science and History
Science and philosophy

While I am mainly concerned with questions at the top of this page, the interworking of science, engineering, and mathematics can not be separated from this conjunction of scientific and biblical truth.  It might not be as obvious to some but history and philosophy are also inseparably woven into this fabric; therefore, answers to questions about God, science, and the Bible must include history, philosophy, and mathematics.  More in-depth math and science will be put on separate pages with hyperlinks to those pages.  I will hyperlink to other websites for explanations, opinions, and clarifications, many of these could be opposing views.

Today is Wednesday, January 04, 2006 and I am involved with a time consuming project at work.  I probably won’t get much done on this till the middle of February and then it will take quite some time for me to finish, if I ever finish.  Since I am a finite human and I am missing the aptitude for this kind of effort, my hope and prayer is not to get discouraged.  I do have biases and convictions; however, I want to be fair with opposing views.  I pray for the ability to simply, comprehensibly, and effectively communicate my understanding of this multidimensional interwoven fabric wherein we exist, and I pray for true understanding.

I will be hyper-linking to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, as a resource of information.  This has both advantages and disadvantages; it is free and loaded with information; however, almost anyone can edit the information.  There are more reliable resources on the internet but they require you to sign up; I don't like the idea of hyperlinks not working because you have to pay or sign up for that service.  If anyone knows of a better solution please send email to file13@ron-weber.com unusual email - here is the explanation.

Most people are not scientist, mathematicians, historians, philosophers, engineers, or theologians; I ‘am sure no one reading this, including myself, has a good grasp on all of these areas; therefore, research and study of these disciplines with the goal of knowledge, understanding, and correlative reasoning is required of me and would be nice for you.  Correlating information from the various disciplines and accurately distilling it down for easy reading comprehension could be a task beyond either my resolve or ability; however, at this point intrigue outweighs uncertainty.
